Love of Holy Rasool for Makkah and Madinah

Whether it is Makkah Mukarramah or Madinah Munawwarah, both hold affiliation with the Beloved Nabi صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. One has the privilege of being the birth place of Holy Rasool صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم, while the other holds the honour of being the last resting place (shrine) of Holy Rasool صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم. Holy Rasool صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم himself held immense affection towards both cities. At the time of migrating from Makkah Mukarramah to Madinah Munawwarah, he صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم addressed the city of Makkah and said: ‘You are the most beloved to me among all the cities. If my nation had not compelled me [to leave], I would not reside anywhere else other than you.’ (Sunan-ut-Tirmizi, vol. 5, pp. 487, Hadees 3952)

Whereas, Madinah Tayyibah is the place that Holy Rasool صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم blessed with staying at after migrating from Makkah Mukarramah. Some ‘Muhajir Sahabah’ [emigrants] رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُم would remember Makkah Mukarramah, so the Beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم made Du’a: Ya Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ! Make Madinah as beloved of us as Makkah was beloved [of us] or even more than that. (Sahih Bukhari, vol. 1, pp. 621, Hadees 1889)

Upon returning from any journey, the Beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم would ride the riding animal at the usual speed but when he صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم would observe the walls of Madinah, he صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم would increase the speed of the riding animal out of the love for Madinah.
