Demise of Sayyidatuna Aaminah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا

When the Holy Nabi صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمwas six years of age, his mother took him to Madinah to meet the relatives of the maternal family of his grandfather in the tribe Banu ‘Adee Bin Najjaar [نَجَّار]. It is narrated that she رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا went to behold the grave of her deceased husband. During the journey, she رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا was accompanied by Umm-e-Ayman - the slave-girl of the father of the Holy Nabi صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم. On her way back, Sayyidatuna Aaminah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا passed away at the place called ‘Abwa’ and was buried there. His father had already passed away before he صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمwas born. Now his kind and caring, affectionate and sympathetic mother also passed away. In other words, it was as if he صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمwas going to be brought up by Divine mercy which did not need any apparent means.1

After the demise of Sayyidatuna Aaminah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا, Sayyidatuna Umm-e-Ayman رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا brought him to Makkah at the home of his grandfather, ‘Abdul Muttalib, who brought him up with great affection and kindness. Sayyidatuna Umm-e-Ayman also continued to look after him. When he صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمwas eight years of age, his grandfather, ‘Abdul Muttalib, also passed away.2
